God answers prayers...

Our oldest has been experiencing a lot of bad dreams lately so every night he asks that when we pray, we pray for God to take away his bad dreams and give him good dreams. We repeat this prayer again if he wakes up in the middle of the night with a bad dream, allowing him to fall back to sleep.

One of the nights our youngest wanted me to say the same prayer to him too. Which I did. However, our oldest was upset that I said the exact same prayer. So, later that night when he woke up screaming he told me "LITTLE BROTHER STOLE MY GOOD DREAMS!"

However, this morning my oldest told me: "Mommy, God answered my prayer last night." Oh yea buddy, how is that? "He gave me sweet dreams about us going back to Hawaii with Grammy and Pops. And you were there, and daddy, and Little Bro. It was a really nice dream mommy."

Until late spring (when we go back to Hawaii with my folks) I can only imagine and hope his dreams look something like this...

What are you dreaming of today?

  1. I had a dream someone cut my daughter's hair!!! Like buzzed it!!! BUT I should tell ya, Hawaii....I'm incredibly jealous!!!

  2. Awww... I believe in answered prayers too. It must be really cute when your oldest told you that his prayers were answered! :)

And yeah, like Sonya's post.. I am jealous too! lol!

  3. Aww, don't you wish we could just take away all their bad dreams? For a while there, my oldest (5yo) had been saying that he gets scared of the dark because he's been having bad dreams. We also include in our bedtime prayers (together) that Jesus takes away his bad dreams. Now that he seems to be over them, we changed the wording in the prayer a bit to say that Jesus gives him sweet, sweet dreams every night. :)

I've been reading your other posts and really enjoy your blog. =)

  4. oh how sweet! so happy to his bad dreams were replaced! and lovely images, hope his dream did look something like that, how beautiful!

and thank you for your super sweet comments about my blog & family the other day, i too am looking forward to following along with your beautiful family!

  5. THis is so sweet! I hope he has only sweet dreams from here on out.
